12/29/2023 0 Comments Centurion medical staffingIn March, NaphCare warned that its staff members had been assaulted in Fulton’s jail, a patient had been stabbed and that the lockup was the most dangerous of the more than 70 jails it services nationwide. Gwinnett’s jail is now working with FirstClass Healthcare, founded by a group of Atlanta-based emergency doctors and physician assistants. Less than a month after Strayhon died, Gwinnett notified NaphCare that it would not renew its contract. The lawsuit accuses the company and some physicians and nurses of failing to provide adequate and timely care to Deion Strayhon. The company is facing a medical malpractice lawsuit from the family of a 26-year-old Dacula man who died from a bleeding intestinal ulcer in Gwinnett’s jail two years ago. Both have worked with Birmingham-based NaphCare. Meanwhile, the Gwinnett and Fulton county jails, which have both experienced many inmate deaths since 2009, have made important decisions in the last few years about inmate health care. “Armor addresses a priority area of inmate care in today’s jail environment: A collaborative, holistic approach to medical and behavioral/mental health needs.”Īrmor Health did not respond to requests for comment, but CEO Otto Campo, included a statement in Maddox’s release, saying his company’s experience “paired with our unique approach to data analytics gives us enhanced visibility, insight and perspective into our patient population, and enables us to create individualized care plans.” Maddox declined to comment about Armor Health’s conviction, but said in a news release that she expects the company to be a “productive partner.” The conviction stemmed from the 2016 dehydration death of a Milwaukee County Jail detainee. Last year, Armor Health was found guilty of falsifying medical records and neglecting a jail inmate. Maddox replaced them this month with Miami-based Armor Health under a new contract she signed in April. Wellpath and Centurion did not respond to repeated requests for comment but emailed Maddox’s office, saying they were working to fill openings. Four died of heart-related conditions, one from peritonitis and three hanged themselves in their cells. Walker, 34, was among nine people who died in the jail’s custody last year, its highest yearly total since 2009, records show.

12/29/2023 0 Comments Stardrive 2 construction ship zeroShips, especially capital vessels, are very slow to respond to orders, and have a nasty habit of wobbling back and forth rather than correctly aiming their heavy weapons where you want them to. The lack of direct tactical control can be annoying at times. Damaging close-combat vehicles can instead be thrown straight in the enemy’s face, soaking up hits and punishing them point blank with evil broadsides. You can choose to let the computer control your ships if you wish, but for those who like to protect their precious creations you’ll find some simple tactical options speedy, long-range ships can be kept out of range of the enemy’s heavy hitters, slowly wearing down their hull with sniper fire. Space combat takes a leaf out of the RTS book, ditching turn-based play in favour of a real-time system where the player can mess around with facing, engagement rules and movement. Thankfully the game provides several efficient templates for those intimidated by the sheer array of options. You can set up your battleships as long-range broadside specialists, or speedy cruisers that close with devastating EMP blasts. Laser cannons can be installed as turrets, with a wide firing arc, or set up as main cannons, which lack manoeuvrability but pack more power. There are thousands of possible combinations, with specialised versions of all the main weapon types. If you’re the kind of person who spends hours constructing the perfect battle fleet, you’ll find lots to like in StarDrive 2’s robust shipyard. In contrast to the cheap-looking land battles, naval encounters are exciting and full of spectacle It’s the opposition AI that’ll cause you trouble, not the basics of the game itself. Even when you’re controlling a zone that stretches from one side of the galaxy to the other, you never feel like the game’s forcing you to juggle a billion plates. It’s a great system that takes a lot of the frustration out of managing your empire. They’ll ship food to non-agricultural worlds, carry ground troops into battle, and trade goods with the space neighbours. Built in the same way as your regular ships, upon construction freighters act as a kind of automatic resource any utility needs that your empire has, these freighters automatically carry out. One feature I really, really love is the freighter system. I’m also not a huge fan of the way your unique racial techs are researched at random - sure, it’s nice every now and then to have a surprisingly impressive option pop up when you gamble at researching a racial tech, but in a game that punishes you hard for wasted effort, rolling the dice on potentially gaining something useful seems a poor gamble. The UI here does a poor job of informing you of the direction your research will take you, so it’s annoyingly hard to plan out a path for your tech acquisition. Research itself is a little more cluttered than it should be. If you’re desperate to unlock that new plasma cannon tech, you can shift workers into research roles temporarily at a hit to your production capability. Switching your civilians to different roles depending on your needs is simple. Planetary governance is kept pleasingly simple, though it's always a good idea to specialise each of your main strongholds 12/29/2023 0 Comments Marta police hiringavoid using card readers with an irregular or unusual feature.

X-rays work even with minimal doses of radiation.Ī radiologist or radiographer can view a patient's x-ray image in real time and take snapshots. Used for images of broken bones, teeth, and breasts. This is the best known type of his X-ray imaging. Gasses trapped in the lungs, for example, are particularly poorly absorbed and appear as black specks. Since bones are rich in calcium, which has a high atomic number, X-rays are absorbed and images appear white. Pilots, flight attendants and astronauts are at higher dose risk due to increased exposure to cosmic rays at altitude. However, few Ultrasound studies link working in aircraft with increased cancer incidence. These rays are not harmless, mri test but they are unavoidable and the levels of radiation are so small that their effects are mostly unnoticed. In addition, the Earth is constantly bombarded with cosmic rays, including her X-rays. Radon is the largest natural source of radiation for most people. Radioactive materials are naturally present in air, soil, water, rocks and vegetation. Everyone on Earth is exposed to a certain amount of radiation in their daily lives. The first person to take an X-ray of him for medical purposes was young Eddie McCarthy of Hanover who broke his left wrist in a fall while skating on the Connecticut River in 1896. Just weeks after discovering that X-rays can help visualize bones, X-rays are being used in medical practice. Wilhelm Roentgen is known as the first person to describe X-rays. The first X-rays were taken over 100 years ago. The majority of X-rays have wavelengths between 10 picometers and 10 nanometers, which translates to frequencies between 30 petahertz and 30 exahertz and energies between 145 eV and 124 keV. X-rays, or very rarely X-rays, are a penetrating form of high-energy electromagnetic radiation. Although, you can also see a review of Ableton Live 10 Standard on our blog.Ībleton Live come in different degrees called Intro, Standard and Suite. There are a number of different variations of Ableton DAWs, so for the avoidance of doubt, I am using Ableton Live 10 Lite. In this article, I will compare two of the big hitters and industry standards in the DAW game: Apple’s Logic Pro X vs Ableton Live. For this reason, it is incredibly important to understand the kind of DAW will suit you best and help you realise the sounds in your head. This is what you will create your music using, and it is the software and home of your new creations. If you’re currently using GarageBand and looking to upgrade to Logic Pro X, I recommend checking out our guide to GarageBand Alternatives for Windows as well.Your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) is basically your recording software and will be the canvas for your creations. Without further ado, let’s get into some great alternatives for Windows. Best Logic Pro X Alternatives For PC/Windows While we don’t recommend doing this due to the hassle and potential virus issues, you would need some sort of emulator. You will then be prompted to download an emulator such as Virtual Box. Should you choose to really want to go the emulator route, which again, we don’t recommend, you will need a moderately fast computer. After a few weeks of working on another DAW, you will notice that you can do basically the same things, you just have to get comfortable. This can be dangerous and I personally don’t recommend doing this as it more of a pain than just going with an alternative. The only way that you can do this is by downloading an emulator or simulator to act as Apple. How To Download Logic Pro X For PC/WindowsĪs mentioned above, Logic Pro X is created by Apple and it is not compatible with Windows. If you already own a MIDI controller for Logic Pro, fear not, it should be fully compatible with the options below as well. If you’re not completely against using a DAW that looks different than Logic Pro X but has provided for an incredible workflow, I recommend trying out Cubase. In terms of the visual aesthetic and workflow, Reaper is the closest alternative for Logic Pro X. With this being said, we decided on 5 DAWs that allow you to do everything that you can do with Logic Pro X. It’s also quite a hassle to go this route. Note: We don’t recommend doing this as there can be bugged or malicious software potentially. Because of this, the only possible way to use Logic Pro X with Windows would be by using a virtual emulator of sorts. The short answer is that Logic Pro X is Apple only. Refer to these rules in the case of conflicting opinions. And that's the story of how JO came to be what it is now. At some point Baratorch even made a fix that disables the possibility of recruiting Heroes from Tavern, specifically for Outcast. They loved this template and I'm sure they brought a lot of new players to the lobby. The hype was so unreal that streamers like Gluhammer, Twaryna and Dreadz, as well as content creator Sir Troglodyte, all took notice of this new thing - 1 Hero gaming. Especially when the first Jebus Roulette tournament was organized by Feral and Lexiav - then it really took off. It was less time consuming, it was simple, engaging and fun.įrom that moment Jebus Outcast started gaining more and more popularity. And later on, it was on his stream where I saw that playing this game with 1 Hero is actually viable (by adding certain rules basically), for me it was like the key missing element which was needed to turn Heroes 3 into a more approachable game for everyone. First streamer who started playing it and brought a lot of attention to JO was Lexiav, his feedback was crucial in the process of development. Back then it was played with 8 Heroes like all the other templates. Then I showed it to John Denver, who had ideas similar to mine regarding the balance issues of Heroes 3, and he helped me pick the name for this template. It all began with a special version of Jebus King that had pretty much all the overpowered stuff removed. Jebus Outcast was originally envisioned as a template which lets you experience Heroes 3 in a totally different way. 12/28/2023 0 Comments Simplenote supportI would open it up and find a note was completely blank: it was present as a note, but there was nothing in it. The sync appeared to work perfectly, but recently I have found text disappearing from individual notes in Simplenote. I’ve been happily splitting the stories into smaller scenes in Scrivener, to make them more manageable, and then syncing them with Simplenote. I’ve been working on some short stories, which I have been publishing individually on Amazon via Kindle Direct Publishing. I’ll get round to telling you more about Scrivener another time, but let’s get back to the point. The saving grace here is that I can set up some chapters to go across to Simplenote, edit them while I’m away from my desk, and then sync the changes back again on my return. There is a Windows version too, but the last time I looked, the sync I am talking about here was not available). The only problem is that Scrivener is currently desktop only (I have it on Mac. It allows me to order – and reorder – my thoughts as much as I want, make changes to the text while keeping snapshots of how it was before, keep character studies, research and ideas alongside my draft …and so on. I’m still using the (fully functional) trial version of Scrivener at the moment, but I know I will end up buying it eventually, because it is so much better than Word for writing books. If you’ve not heard of Scrivener, then know that it is one of the best pieces of software out there for writers, some would say the best. However, Simplenote has one thing going for it that makes me want to move all my writing there: it synchronises with Scrivener. To be honest, I tend to use Evernote more for my blog posts at the moment, just because I am so used to it being part of my standard workflow. It also has an iOS app, so I can write on my iPod Touch on my lunchtime walks in the park. It really is simple to use and has a clean interface, without loads of bells and whistles. Simplenote is a note taking application which I sometimes use for quickly typing up blog posts and book chapters when I am away from my home desktop. One of those hiccups has been the demise of Squidoo and the other has been an issue in Simplenote. I’ve had one or two “hiccups” in my writing life recently. They can power the wheels on electric power alone – often up to fairly high speeds – and, crucially, can be recharged from a charging point just like a full EV, in addition to regaining charge as you slow down. These usually feature the largest and most powerful electric motors and battery packs of all hybrid types. Toyota is well known for using this type of hybrid setup, with models including the Toyota Prius, Toyota Corolla and Toyota C-HR all offering this option.įinally, you'll find plug-in hybrid models – also known as PHEVs. They recharge by capturing kinetic energy as the car slows down, which has led some brands to call these models 'self-charging hybrids'. These models usually feature a larger, dedicated electric motor and battery pack, and are able to directly power the car's wheels at low speeds without using the engine. Next up are what you might call full hybrids. Many models in the Suzuki lineup are available with mild hybrid engines, and they can also be found in cars such as the Fiat 500, Ford Puma and Hyundai Kona. Mild hybrids cannot directly drive the car's wheels with electricity so are simply used to reduce the strain on the engine, improving fuel economy. The category kicks off with mild hybrids – these typically use a beefed-up combined starter motor and alternator that can harvest your car's kinetic energy as you slow down. Hybrids are a fairly broad category – all feature an engine of some kind but there are several different levels of electrification available. In practice, this can see you creep through city traffic without ever turning your engine on, while also having the ability to travel long distances without having to use the UK's less-than-reliable EV charging network. They feature a traditional engine alongside an electric motor and battery pack, aiming to use one or the other or both in concert depending on the type of driving you're doing. Hybrid cars aim to blend the strengths of both fuel-powered cars and electric vehicles. |
